Laboratory Profile
Our laboratory primarily focuses on the active components of natural products and Chinese herbal medicines. By integrating natural product chemistry, cellular and molecular biology, and pharmacological techniques, we investigate the underlying mechanisms of herbal medicines and natural products in metabolic diseases, cancer, and inflammation-related disorders. Our core research includes the isolation, identification, and pharmacological evaluation of active components from Antrodia cinnamomea and other natural sources. We utilize cellular and animal models to analyze their regulatory mechanisms in adipogenesis, inflammatory responses, and tumor growth. Relevant studies have demonstrated that natural products exert anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and metabolic-regulating effects by modulating multiple signaling pathways, such as mTOR, β-catenin, and the NLRP3 inflammasome. Furthermore, our lab combines medical databases with epidemiological methodologies to conduct integrated analyses of disease risks and the pharmacological effects of natural products. Our ultimate goal is to establish a scientific foundation for natural product drug development and promote the modernization and clinical application of Chinese herbal medicines.
